1. What is Botox?
   Botox Cosmetic is a purified protein made specifically for cosmetic use. Botox is dissolved in a water solution and a small number of tiny, painless injections are given just under the skin. Botox relaxes the facial muscles in the area of injection that would otherwise bunch and wrinkle the skin.
2. Who is it for?
   Women and men who want to look younger, more alert, and refreshed. Those with wrinkles and expression lines such as forehead lines, crow’s feet, and glabellar frown lines (between the eyebrows), and those with tired looking eyes who want a brow lift and/or lid lift.
   
   Prior to Botox, clients often describe themselves as looking older than they feel, tired, sad or angry. After Botox clients often describe their look as younger, happier, alert, and vibrant.
   
   Dr. Milkovich and Dr. Banks can also use advanced Botox techniques to reduce the lines around the mouth, correct excess down-turning of the corners of the mouth, reduce or eliminate neck lines and neck bands (platysmal bands), and give more lift and definition to the neck and jawline.
3. How does it work?
   Wrinkles and expression lines occur when our facial muscles contract, bunching and folding our skin repeatedly, for example between our eyebrows (the glabellar frown lines) or beside the eyes (crow’s feet lines). They can cause us to look frustrated, tired and angry even when we’re not. Botox relaxes the underlying facial muscles in the treated area preventing folding and bunching of the skin, smoothing away the lines and wrinkles. This impressive effect is very natural looking and will last for several months.
   
   Longterm use of Botox also prevents new lines and wrinkles from forming, and even deep lines can continue to improve as the body's natural healing response repairs the skin.
4. How soon will I see results?
   You'll notice the first effects in about 2 to 3 days and improvement will continue day by day. The full effects of Botox are usually reached in just 10 days and will last for several months.
5. Does it hurt?
   Botox treatments are gentle and essentially painless. The session takes only a few minutes and most clients don't even feel the tiny injections. Even our most timid clients concede it's a breeze!
6. Is there any downtime?
   Botox Cosmetic is a “no downtime” procedure and you may return to work or your normal social activity immediately following your session.
7. Who does the injections?

8. Is Botox safe?
   Botox Cosmetic is approved for use by Heath Canada and the FDA, and is considered very safe. It has been used for cosmetic purposes for over 17 years, with a proven safety record. Botox Cosmetic injections cannot cause “Botulism” (a myth). Approved Botox Cosmetic techniques produce natural results and the face remains expressive, not "frozen" (another myth).
