VolumaLift™ is a simple office-based procedure that can make you look years younger without surgery. Using dermal fillers, Dr. Banks and Dr. Milkovich skillfully restore the facial contours and volume that have been lost with age.

In the past, wrinkles were simply considered a sign of aged and damaged skin. Surgical facelifts tried to address this by pulling the skin tight, removing wrinkles. The results were not completely satisfying though, and unfortunately early facelift techniques didn’t reverse aging as expected – they left patients looking “different” than they did when they were younger.

We now know that wrinkles, as well as several other signs of aging, are largely due to loss of volume and support under the skin rather than simply damage to the skin itself. This is good news. It allows us to reverse the effect of aging by “re-inflating” the “deflated” areas. The benefits are many. Not only do wrinkles soften or even disappear, but youthful contours are restored in areas like the cheeks, the chin, around the mouth and the jaw-line. Restoring volume to the cheeks results in "lift" to the mid and lower face. Features such as the lips, are easily restored to their youthful fullness. This makes the lips look great and has the added benefit of softening the lines around the mouth.

1. Who's it for?

2. Is it safe?
   Dermal fillers for injection are approved by Health Canada and the US FDA. We use only premium, proven fillers to treat our clients. Most products are HA (Hyaluronic Acid) gels. These products have an outstanding safety profile.
   
   Dr. Milkovich & Dr. Banks are expert injectors of dermal fillers & are certified physician instructors of dermal filler techniques.

3. Does it hurt?
   VolumaLift and other dermal filler procedures at MD Esthetics are essentially painless. Our doctors have your complete comfort in mind and employ advanced techniques to ensure the procedure is very gentle and easily tolerated. Our clients routinely describe their experience as "a piece of cake" or "painless".
4. How long does it take?
   VolumaLift takes about 30 minutes. We book you for 1 hour in our centre so there is time for questions and a comfortable, unrushed environment.
5. When will I see results?
   Your results will be immediately noticeable after the procedure.
6. How long does it last?
   Results can last up to 2 years, sometimes even longer. Filler placed deeply in the cheeks has been shown to stimulate your natural collagen to plump up the area, leading to long-lasting results. The filler itself lasts a long time in this area. The filler in the lips typically lasts about a year, although many clients will notice longer lasting results. The areas are easy to maintain, and in general, less filler is required with future treatments.
7. Is there any downtime?
   VolumaLift is well tolerated and many clients carry on normally with their day immediately after the procedure.
   
   Mild bruising can occur in a minority of patients and can be covered with makeup. Moderate bruising is less common and more likely to occur with those client on blood thinning medications. Bruising, if it occurs, resolves over several days to a week in most cases.
   
   Minor swelling is common and resolves over 6 to 48 hours depending on the individual. Most of our clients have no appreciable swelling and can confidentally carry on with the rest of their day.
8. Is there any special care after the procedure?
   After VolumaLift, you should refrain from aerobic exerice for 48 hours. You should also avoid prolonged, direct pressure on the injected areas for the 5 days after the procedure and sleep on your back during this time. You can bath, shower, and apply makeup as you normally would.
9. Which fillers do the doctors use?
   Our doctors use only premium, proven filler products.
   
   Each client is an individual, and the doctors will choose the filler best suited to each area of injection based on your needs, to achieve optimum. results. Our doctors are happy to discuss their product recommendations with you during your consultation.
   
   Commonly used fillers in our centre include: Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Teosyal, Radiesse, and Evolence.
