- What is Contour-Lipo™?
Contour-Lipo™ is a MD Esthetics proprietary formulation for injectable lipotherapy. Its constituents, such as deoxycholate, are found naturally in the body where they are involved in fat metabolism. Contour-Lipo™ is formulated to spread more effectively through the treated area, providing greater effect and tolerability than standard lipotherapy solutions.
- How does it work?
When Contour-Lipo™ is injected into the unwanted fat, it breaks down the bonds that allow fat molecules to bind together and hide from the body’s metabolism. The body then removes the fat molecules through normal metabolic pathways. Contour-Lipo™ also breaks down the cells that store fat, so fat is less likely to return to the treated area.
- Who is it for?
Women and Men who want a non-surgical treatment to improve the contour of their body where fatty bulges persist despite adequate diet and exercise. Contour-Lipo™ can also help fitness enthusiasts achieve improved muscle definition in specific regions like the abdomen and arms.
- Which areas can be treated?
Virtually any area can be treated. The most commonly treated areas are:

- What can I expect during the treatment?
The doctors treat the area of fatty bulge with a series of small injections of Contour-Lipo™. Several injections are gently placed just under the skin into the fat and distributed evenly across the treated area. The needle pricks are tiny and easily tolerated. Many of our clients don’t even feel them. Once injected, Contour-Lipo™ will cause a warm sensation and then the area will feel numb for about an hour. A treatment session usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated.
- What happens after treatment?
The treated areas will be red and slightly swollen after your session but you can return to normal activity. Mild to moderate bruising is common and typically resolves within 2 weeks. It is normal for the treated area to feel moderately tender for up to 4 weeks after each session as Contour-Lipo™ continues to work. You can remain fully active during this period and no special care is needed. Visible results may take 4 to 6 weeks, as the mild swelling associated with the body’s fat removal process fully resolves.
- How many treatments will I need?
Best results are typically seen after 4 sessions spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. Individual results may vary. For your convenience, we offer a choice of single session treatments or 4-session packages
