Broken Capillaries & Red Spots

“Broken Capillaries” refer to small but visible blood vessels at the surface of our skin. The medical term is telangiectasias. These are common on the face, especially on the nose and cheeks. Because of their red colour, they tend to draw attention. Sometimes a cluster of these vessels will occur in one spot, giving rise to the term “spider vessels”. Genetics, sun damage, hormonal influences, and other skin conditions (such as Rosacea) can be factors in developing broken capillaries.

Creams won’t rid your skin of these vessels, but laser treatments are highly effective. Lasers designed specifically for treating these vessels exist. They are ideally suited to treating these pesky blemishes because the laser energy directly targets the vessels, not your healthy skin. Treatments take only a few minutes, and often full clearing is achieving in just one to two sessions.

In addition to broken capillaries & spider vessels, we also treat other common red spots occurring anywhere on the body. Cherry Angioma, also called Campbell de Morgan spots, are those bright red, small rounded bumps commonly seen on the chest, back & neck of people over 30. They accumulate with age, but are easily treated using our laser technologies.
